  • Five Elms

Five Elms is the ideal partner for leading B2B software and internet companies We invest $4-40 million in companies with $2-20 million in revenues. Minority or majority investments, growth capital or liquidity for founders and early investors. Ideal partner for founders We specialize in partnering with founder-owned, bootstrapped businesses, working alongside management to accelerate growth and continue to build industry leading businesses. We take partnerships seriously and will work our tails off to help you succeed, but never take ourselves too seriously. Our relaxed, open, and honest working style is one of the reasons we've been successful in earning our partners' trust and a seat at the table in profitable businesses where additional capital is optional. Anti-Valley approach We don't believe in "unicorn or bust". We don't push companies to grow at all costs or raise mega rounds of capital - that mindset increases founder dilution and reduces the landscape of exit scenarios where everyone wins. We like managers to have both significant equity stakes and significant option value as to what outcomes can be a win. B2B Focus We exclusively invest in B2B software and internet-enabled companies. This specialization has helped us build an unmatched network and domain expertise. Founders can supplement their industry knowledge with our experience in helping accelerate growth, overcoming positive and consistent challenges tied to scale, and de-risking the path to a successful exit for all stakeholders. Resources and value-add Our Firm and Operations Support Team have been purpose-built to optimize key functions in a bootstrapped organization (e.g., sales, marketing, finance, recruiting). Our goal is to provide you the resources and expertise to supplement your already successful organization and to assist in more rapidly achieving organizational goals. Culture is crucial Our best performing companies are obsessed with company culture - it is crucial to their success. We look to build on existing culture and don't meddle in day-to-day operations. we hustle Much like the companies we back, we aren't the incumbent private equity behemoth - we try harder.

  • Invest Nebraska

Who We Are Invest Nebraska is led by a team experienced at growing early stage and lower middle market companies. We are committed to growing Nebraska’s economy by assisting entrepreneurs and investing capital in those companies that have growth potential. Collaboration with strategic partners, state government, communities, and post-secondary education institutions is important. Our History Invest Nebraska was created due to the passage of the Nebraska Venture Capital Forum Act, introduced in 2001 on behalf of then Governor Mike Johanns and passed by the Nebraska Legislature. Our founders were collaborators – representing Nebraska’s private sector, the University of Nebraska, and the Nebraska Department of Economic Development. Leaders in their own right, they envisioned an organization that assisted Nebraska’s diverse entrepreneurs, collaborated with investors, and showed flexibility in growing the state’s economy. Early partners that accelerated the development of Invest Nebraska included the Nebraska Department of Economic Development, the Nebraska Investment Finance Authority, the United States Department of Agriculture – Rural Development, and the Hormel Family Foundation. In 2010, Invest Nebraska authored a comprehensive report for the Nebraska Legislature’s Innovation and Entrepreneurial Task Force, which reviewed existing state programs, conducted ecosystem surveys, analyzed policies of other states, and made recommendations to improve Nebraska’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. Many of those recommendations were included in the Business Innovation Act, introduced in 2011 on behalf of Governor Dave Heineman and passed unanimously by the Legislature. The fall of 2012 saw Invest Nebraska make its first equity investment under the Business Innovation Act.

  • Live Ventures Incorporated

Live Ventures Incorporated is a publicly traded company on the NASDAQ Capital Market. Formerly known as LiveDeal, Inc., our company was originally incorporated in 1968 as Nuclear Corporation of New Mexico. In late 2011, our CEO and activist investor Jon Isaac rescued LiveDeal from near bankruptcy, days before NASDAQ was due to delist it. We immediately brought in an aggressive new management team—with Isaac at the head—and a life-saving healthy flush of new capital. Together, our team began to rebuild LiveDeal into a highly successful competitor against mobile marketing heavyweights like Groupon and Living Social. But that success was only step one in our vision for LiveDeal. Today, the former LiveDeal proudly wears the name Live Ventures. We have become a diversified holding company with the sole mission of delivering shareholder value by acquiring profitable, stable and growing companies. Unlke the early days of LiveDeal Inc., Live Ventures is a thriving enterprise today, with nearly $18 Million in net profit in 2016, total assets of over $120 million, and approximately 1,200 employees across the United States. Acquisitions are commonplace in corporate America, but we have a commitment that sets us apart. From the moment we take ownership, we invest millions into growth and capital improvements, creating new jobs along the way. Live Ventures is not a trader, turnover machine, or private equity firm. We have never sold a single company we have acquired. At Live Ventures, we don’t exploit weak businesses, we make them strong again.
